Nick Hern

Chief executive

An industry veteran, Nick brings a wealth of hands-on experience and knowledge to his leadership of the EuroVintage team.

Nick's experience over a successful 30 year career covers a wide spectrum of the industry. It includes time at the helm of wine distribution business Vintage Wines and Spirits; a hugely valuable period in liquor retailing with his ownership of Newmarket Wines and Spirits and during the early 1990s Nick was responsible for driving Penfold's Australia business in New Zealand.

Andy joined the Auckland sales team in 1996 and has progressed through the ranks to now drive our marketing strategy from our Auckland head office.

With a BA and Graduate Diploma in Tourism from Otago University, Andy's 20 years industry experience represents a diverse overview of the wine and hospitality industries from restaurant management, hotel and bar work, fine wine and traditional liquor retail, and general management of a start-up wine export business.

Andy has played a key role in the development of EuroVintage since he assumed his role at the commencement of the new business.

Brett Newell

Consultant

Along with Nick Hern, Brett has been at the company's helm since its inception.

Countless industry relationships nurtured by Brett over four decades form the basis upon which a large part of our portfolio has been built.

A distinguished public speaker and broadcaster, Brett is constantly in demand for MC roles. He has been the Champagne presenter for 'Savour New Zealand' and the MC for Wellington's international Pinot Noir forum for three consecutive events.

A member of Veuve Clicquot's exclusive 'Cercle Des Amis De La Veuve' and a one-time chief wine judge; Brett brings immense wine expertise and experience as well as considerable business acumen to his role.

Niels joined Vintage Wines & Spirits – now EuroVintage – in 2006 from long 18 year tenure with Foodstuffs. Niels leads the EuroVintage grocery team as Sales Manager of Grocery. Niels’ understanding of the FMCG business and commitment to building successful relationships is invaluable.

Along the way Niels has taken the opportunity to undertake further studies completing Foodstuffs Management Diploma with Honours, Advanced National Certificate in Retailing, and NZIM Certificate in Management.

Lorin Keech

Lorin joined the EuroVintage sales team as Key Account Manager in March 2012. Lorin brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the liquor industry coming to EuroVintage from Treasury Wine Estates (formally Foster’s) where he spent close to 10 years.

Lorin enjoys golf and fishing in his spare time along with cooking and spending time with his family. He’s extensively travelled Europe and South Africa and still looks forward to his next adventure overseas.

Phil has been with EuroVintage since its inception and was with Vintage Wines and Spirits for seven years before that. A regular in the Auckland hospitality scene, Phil has been servicing Auckland’s bars and restaurants for many years from his time working at top restaurants such as Number 5 to sales management roles at Allied Liquor Merchants and Lincoln Vineyards.

Phil’s key role is finding new business opportunities while supporting key Auckland on-premise establishments.

A keen sportsman, Phil captains a Dragon Boat team and competes at events both in Auckland and across the country. In the weekends Phil enjoys riding his 900cc motorbike.

Ben is a hugely influential member of our sales team managing our key on premise business in Auckland city.

Ben moved to New Zealand from his native France to 'follow a Kiwi girl' in 2004. His experience in France included fine wine retail and on premise work in Paris. He also enjoyed a stint in bar management on the French Riveria.

Ben has a Wine & Spirits Technical & Commercial Degree from ISNAB, Bordeaux and has passed the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate with 'Distinction'.

Adrian Elrick

Adrian joined our sales team in September 2011 and brings with him a wealth of experience. Adrian has been involved in the trade for over forty years working for companies such as Leopard Breweries, Allied Liquor, Spirit Merchants and Ballande NZ.

Adrian famously played football for the All Whites for ten years which includes his involvement in the 1982 Football World Cup; the first All White’s team to do so. Adrian played left back, scoring one goal in his 91 international caps for the All Whites.

Suzanne Slocombe

Bubbly Suzanne joined the EuroVintage team in January 2012 in a newly created role as Corporate Account Manager based in Auckland. Suzanne spent five years in the on-premise trade for Villa Maria before making the move. Suzanne is in charge of corporate sales in the Auckland area.

Suzanne brings with her a lot of experience and was nominated in the Outstanding Sales Representative category at the 2011 Lewisham Auckland Hospitality Awards. In 2010 Suzanne completed Level 3 of the New Zealand School of Wine & Spirits Wine Spirit Education Trust Certificate.

Having spent some time travelling the UK and Europe, Suzanne claims Las Vegas is her ‘favourite place in the whole world’. A particular favourite on the calendar each year is a foodie and shopping blitz of Melbourne. A particular favourite is Japanese cuisine.

After spending time with his young family, Glenn enjoys all sports including cricket, golf and fishing. Before delving into the account management world, Glenn trained as a Golf Teaching Pro and worked in the golf industry for 6 years. Any spare time sees Glenn travel the wine regions of New Zealand and Australia.

Karen has a long love of wine, joining the team from Hamilton based Mystery Creek Wines. Karen enjoys cycling, horse riding and entertaining in her spare time.

From a long history in the liquor trade, Megan joined the EuroVintage sales force in February 2012 based in the Bay of Plenty region. Megan’s extensive experience includes Maxxium in New Zealand to Jack Daniels and Diageo in Australia. Megan recently returned to her home town of Mt. Maunganui after four years living and working in Melbourne, Australia.

From the age of 18, Megan travelled extensively around the world and spent some time working in London. Twice Megan spent six months at sea exploring the Pacific and Australia’s East Coast. Megan is also an artist with a small following along with her love of fishing, gardening, yoga and a bit of DIY.

Rick, a Wellington hospo icon, comes to EuroVintage taking over the reins of On-Premise Account Manager in Wellington after nearly 7 years at Red+White. Rick’s a passionate ‘wino’ and on-premise sales veteran in the Wellington hospitality scene. He has a Diploma from Wines and Spirits Education Trust and recently completed an introductory certificate in Perfume Making in Thailand.

A keen traveller, Rick explores South East Asia each year and has travelled North, Central and South America. Rick has a keen interest in music and arts in general along with raising his young family, running, hiking, water and snow sports, astrology and perfume/the power and mystery of scent.

Kath lived in Melbourne for 7 years before moving back to New Zealand. Her love of wine, entertaining, people and interior design keeps her busy when she isn’t in the trade.

Bev was an Area Manager for Burleigh Trading before Vintage Wines & Spirits and also managed a Modelling & Talent Agency before being consumed by the wine industry. Bev has a Diploma in Management and papers towards her Bachelor in Business.

Bev has enjoyed many overseas holidays with a few vineyard and winery tours along the way. Appearing in a few movies and commercials as an extra is an exciting part-time hobby.

Happy to now call herself a Nelson local, Juliane is a native of California with 15 years sales experience working on the West Coast U.S.A. As well as time with Kobrand, Juliane has experience with a number of winery's including Green Valley, Mt Palomar, Trefethen & DeLoach.

She has a BA in French from Illinois University; a Certificate in French from Dijon University and a Marketing & E-Commerce Certificate from San Diego State University.

She has a wealth of industry experience having worked in fine wine retail for twelve years. For six of those years she managed Dunedin specialist fine wine store Munslows. Lyn joined us from industry competitor Allied Domeq in mid 2005.

With a territory that encompasses Invercargill and the tourist towns of Queenstown, Arrowtown and Wanaka; we reckon Graeme must have the best job in the company!
