Al Brown lands a big fish!
As part of the duo responsible for building Logan Brown Restaurant into the Wellington icon that it is today, Al Brown has won the Single Subject category in the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Annual Cookbook Awards for his book Go Fish.
The IACP awards are the most prestigious and competitive awards for cook book publishing around the world and it is very rare for a New Zealand book to be shortlisted so it is a great honour for Al Brown and Random House New Zealand to go on and win the category with Go Fish.

It's testimony to the passion and attention to detail that Al brought to Go Fish, and is a very deserved win.'
The International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) honoured the world's top gastronomic talents and their extraordinary contributions to the industry at the 2010 Awards Gala on Thursday, April 22 at the Portland Art Museum, during the 32nd IACP Annual Conference in Portland, Oregon.
IACP judges selected 18 winners from the 47 cookbook finalists according to recipe testing and IACP strict criteria ranking. Over 500 entries were submitted for consideration in 2010, making this year's program one of the most competitive ever.
The Single Subject category involves cookbooks which focus on specific foods, cooking methods, techniques or appliances and requires recipe testing and evaluation by the judges. This nomination showcases Al Brown and his amazing seafood cooking to the world.
Go Fish is beautifully packaged and highlights how to cook and prepare delicious meals out of all varieties of seafood in our waters while also looking at sustainability of seafood species and getting the most out of the seafood you are preparing.
Go Fish has been extremely popular appearing on the bestsellers list for over 17 weeks from late October to early April. The book has sold over 16,000 copies and is currently on its 5th reprint.
Logan Brown Restaurant is the reigning Cuisine magazine New Zealand Restaurant of the Year.
