Wine
Founded in 1808, the Rhone icon Maison M. Chapoutier has undergone a recent rejuvenation that is nothing short of astonishing since Max Chapoutier handed over control of the domain to his son Michel in 1990. M. Chapoutier is now the only vintner to hold land in all the major Rhone appellations from the far north to Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the South. He is also the largest vineyard owner of land in the Hermitage appellation.
Michel Chapoutier is passionate about the philosophy and practice of biodynamic viticulture. He believes in the expression of terroir and respecting the earth. "I'm looking to make a wine that is most faithful to terroir and to its vintage". Rather than create a set style, Chapoutier works continuously to create an originality of taste specific to each terroir and to each wine.
